Ousted National Amusements board members' suit headed to trial




A Massachusetts judge has denied a motion to dismiss a lawsuit brought by Viacom CEO Philippe Dauman and board member George Abrams that seeks from the board of National Amusements Inc., the company through which Sumner Redstone controls Viacom and CBS Corp.,

Dauman and Abrams also seek reinstatement to a trust that would oversee Redstone's holdings if he dies or is deemed incapacitated, the

article said.


Judge George Phelan denied Dauman and Abrams' request for an immediate medical examination of Redstone, the article said.


A previous suit filed in California by Redstone's ex-girlfriend Manuela Herzer was dismissed. The California judge did not rule on Redstone's competence, the

article noted.

Phelan ruled that Dauman and Abrams' case should be heard in Massachusetts, where the trust is based. Redstone lives in California, and his attorneys attempted to have the case moved there, the article said. (Source:
