Nina L. Cohen

Managing Director, Director of Endowment and Foundation Advisory, Glenmede

Nina L. Cohen is Director of Endowment and Foundation Advisory based in Glenmede's Philadelphia office. Ms. Cohen and her team provide advisory and administrative services to foundations, endowments, and other not-for-profit organizations. In addition, she assists individuals, families, and organizations with charitable gift planning and the development of philanthropic strategies.


Prior to joining Glenmede, Ms. Cohen practiced law with a concentration in trust, estate charitable and business planning; complex estate and trust administration; elder law; and estate planning for parents of children with developmental disabilities. She also served as the Executive Director of a local community foundation.


Ms. Cohen received her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania and her Bachelor of Social Work degree, summa cum laude, from Temple University.


Active in many community organizations, Ms. Cohen is a Board member of Exponent Philanthropy and the Philanthropy Network of Greater Philadelphia. She also serves on the Board of Advisors of Samost Jewish Family & Children's Services, the Jewish Community Foundation of Southern New Jersey Advisory Council (past President), and the Investment Committee of the Saltzman Foundation.


Ms. Cohen frequently lectures on fiduciary responsibilities, best practices, strategic grant making, planned giving, leadership succession and legal issues for foundations and other not-for-profit organizations.

Mark Hays

Director of Sustainable & Impact Investing, Glenmede

Mark Hays is Director of Sustainable & Impact Investing. In this role, he provides strategic leadership of Glenmede's sustainable and impact investing efforts. Mark and his team are responsible for the development of new investment capabilities, the creation and delivery of innovative thought leadership, and the deepening of relationships with clients and industry partners.


Previously, Mr. Hays served as Vice President of Sustainable Investing for J.P. Morgan Asset Management. In this role, he developed an enhanced ESG integration framework and led its implementation for more than 25 investment teams, while helping to create and launch three sustainable investment strategies. Before this role, he served as Vice President of Impact Investments for Flat World Partners, where he oversaw a team responsible for sourcing, investment due diligence, impact analysis, and recommendation of opportunities for sustainable thematic portfolios representing over $1 billion in institutional capital. Mark started his career at Cambridge Associates.


Mr. Hays earned a Master of Business Administration from the London Business School and a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Wake Forest University.

John McCabe

Chief Fiduciary Counsel, Glenmede

John McCabe is Glenmede's Chief Fiduciary Counsel. In this role, Mr. McCabe serves as Glenmede's senior internal legal advisor on all trust, estate, and fiduciary matters.


Mr. McCabe joined Glenmede in 2014 as a Relationship Manager and Wealth Advisor. Prior to joining Glenmede, he served as managing director and senior trust officer for First Republic Trust Company of Delaware. Prior to that, he managed fiduciary relationships and worked with clients and their advisors in his role as vice president and senior trust officer at Goldman Sachs. He began his career as an attorney in private practice in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.


Mr. McCabe is a member of the state bar of Pennsylvania and the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council. He has written a number of articles on the topic of trust & estate planning and administration for various publications, including Trusts & Estatesand Delaware Banker.


He received his J.D. and LL.M. in taxation from Villanova University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Delaware. He is a member of the board of directors of Support Center for Child Advocates, a pro bono legal services agency based in Philadelphia.



David Shaw

Publishing Director, Family Business Magazine

David Shaw is the publishing director for MLR Media. He also co-founded and serves as conference director of the Transitions conferences, the Private Company Governance Summit and Family Business Legacy. David writes frequently on governance issues for public and private companies, and develops and maintains close relationships with multi-generational family-owned businesses. He is married, with two grown children.
