Family Business Magazine receives national awards

Family Business Magazine has received two national Azbee Awards of Excellence.

The awards, presented by the American Society of Business Publication Editors, honor editorial excellence in business-to-business media.

The special report focusing on non-family executives in family businesses (November/December 2018) was honored with a national gold Azbee award for single-topic coverage by a team. The special report included the following articles:

  • “When a non-family member leads the family business,” by April Hall
  • “The role of culture in recruitment of non-family executives,” by Barbara Spector
  • “Designing incentive compensation for key non-family executives,” by Theodore Sharp

The cover story of Family Business Magazine’s March/April 2018 issue, “From slave labor to thriving business: The storied history of McKissack & McKissack,” received a national bronze Azbee award for a group profile.

In April, both pieces, as well as three other Family Business Magazine reports, received regional Azbee awards.
