The Coronavirus pandemic, and its downstream effects—to the economy, shocks to the supply chain, and self-isolation—is causing the business environment to change rapidly. While this is an unprecedented time in our history, 100-year-plus family enterprises have survived and thrived during similar crises, including global pandemics, world wars, and recessions.

In his recently published book, Borrowed From Your Grandchildren: The Evolution of 100-Year Family Enterprises, Dennis Jaffe shares what we can learn from these “generative families” beyond how to create financial wealth.  Based on decades of research, Dennis explains how generative families build values-based, socially responsible businesses while strengthening relationships and nurturing future generations, regardless of short-term issues.

In this webinar, Dennis Jaffe and Thomas Epperson will explore the lessons family enterprises should learn in order to navigate the short- term challenges we are all facing while preparing for the future. They will discuss the qualities that families and the enterprises they lead need to thrive, even during times like these.

During this webinar, you will learn about:

  • Using values as the rudder to navigate times of uncertainty
  • How to adapt your business while strengthening your community
  • Taking care of your family and the families you impact
  • Cultivating Values Based Leadership practices that balance your short-term needs while creating long-term impact

Join Tom Epperson, President, InnerWill Leadership Institute, Dennis Jaffe, Adviser, Wise Counsel Research, and David Shaw, Publishing Director, Family Business Magazine as they discuss lessons learned from 100-year family businesses that can help steer us through the current crisis.
