Jodi brings over 20 years of experience in both the nonprofit sector and donor-advised fund industry, where she has served as an advocate for both philanthropists and the nonprofit community. In her current role, Jodi manages business development and strategic product development at Vanguard Charitable, seeking to maximize the impact of high net worth donors’ philanthropy. Before joining Vanguard Charitable in 2011, Jodi worked in development at several Philadelphia-based nonprofit organizations, including the Philadelphia Foundation. She is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®).


Julien Franklin

Philanthropic Development Consultant, Vanguard Charitable


Julien joined Vanguard Charitable in 2017. As a Philanthropic Development Consultant, Julien focuses on supporting Vanguard Charitable’s most generous individuals and families through personalized consultation and service. Prior to joining Vanguard Charitable, Julien worked in corporate social responsibility at Aberdeen Asset Management. He has a passion for helping donors reach their philanthropic goals and educating families on impactful giving strategies. Julien is a graduate of Trinity College and is a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®).


David Shaw

Publishing Director, Family Business Magazine

David Shaw is the publishing director of Family Business Magazine and its sister publication, Directors & Boards. With more than 30 years of experience in business-to-business and consumer media markets, he has served as an editor, publisher, publishing director, group publisher and group vice president of a variety of publications, trade shows, conferences and websites.

Prior to founding GRID Media, David served as senior vice president for Phillips Business Information Inc., where he oversaw nearly 100 discrete media properties, and helped build the business from $35 million to more than $100 million in annual revenues. He is a frequent author and speaker on issues related to business-to-business media, multi-generational family businesses and private and public company governance. He is married, with two grown children, one serving in the Navy and the other in law school.
